“Quarters” is a student project where the assignment was to name and brand a unique complex close to campus. The concept was that it was part apartment building, part restaurant/grill, part cafe/deli, part venue to hold events or gigs. The name I chose was “Quarters”, both to compartmentalize the different functions this place would serve, as well as play up the pun (Quarters, meaning the place where one sleeps). And it had a good ring to it. The icon is an abstract “Q” for Quarters, with a subtle house shape within, with the intent to convey an inner warmth. Overall, I was pleased with the way the name translated into a friendly orange color palette, and the resulting applications of the branding came out well.
